WOODEN DECKING FOR YOUR GARDEN

Decking is a popular choice for gardens. It gives an alternative look and feel to paving and also overcomes construction difficulties, such as gardens on a steep slope, close to water or on unstable ground.

If you'd like to give your garden a unique look and feel, decking can be the perfect accompaniment to any landscape.

Different decking to suit your project
Many different types of timber are used for decking which fall into two main categories; hardwood and softwood.

Softwood is very popular and generally cheaper and easier to work with, but will have a shorter life span. Although hardwoods are more expensive and slightly harder to work with, they are much denser and will last much longer.

There is also a large choice of composite decking on the market comprising of wood fibres and resinous substances combined to form very long lasting artificial timber with low maintenance and anti slip properties. They tend to be expensive and can have a slightly artificial look, but they will last.

Our decking projects are constructed to the highest quality with treated timber sub frames supported by posts that are always concreted into place. Weed suppressing fabric is a must and deck boards are screwed into place rather than nailed. We are also able to install steps, balustrades of various types and recessed lighting as required.

FENCING FOR ALL PURPOSES

Fencing of some description is usually required in most gardens to define and secure boundaries, but can also be used to separate areas within gardens for practical or aesthetic purposes.

We are often required to install new fences as part of a garden design or in addition to a new feature in a garden, but we also provide fencing installation as a service on its own.

Whether you require the installation of new gates or fences in a range of styles or just a repair, we will be able to talk you through the advantages and costs of the various options available.

Don't fall for cowboy fencers!
We've all seen shows like Watchdog and Rogue Traders and know that sometimes you can't rely on people to provide good quality fencing. Corners can be cut by companies who use poor quality panels and the thinnest timber posts installed with no concrete.

At Garden Creations, we use only the best quality locally sourced fencing with thick posts which are always concreted into place.

Does it feel like something's missing in your garden? Maybe you're tired of storing your lawnmower in your garage and want it to have a home of its own. Whether you would like something decorative, or something practical, Garden Creations can create the perfect garden structure for you.

What is a garden structure?
A garden structure is quite a loose term really meaning a feature that may give some practical use but will also give a visual effect as a focal point or item of interest. It could be anything from a pergola used to give some height or to provide support for climbing plants to a summerhouse, shed or log cabin. It could also be a raised bed, wall or some kind of garden art or sculpture.
